Reports from ESPN say this is the largest deal in the history of professional sports.

The New York Mets have made a monster deal to sign one of the most sought after players in major league baseball, Juan Soto. ESPN's Jeff Passan broke the news on Twitter late Sunday night. The deal is worth a reports $765 million over 15 years. It also reportedly has escalators that could take that number to over $800 million.

Soto began his career in 2028 with the Washington Nationals and then went to the San Diego Padres before landing with the New York Yankees in 2024 where he wen to the World Series for the second time in his career.

Now he will be playing for the Yankees crosstown rivals, the Mets for the 2025 season.
