Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been indicted on a first degree murder charge for the murder of Hernandez' friend Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez' girlfriend.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and weapons charges, with his legal team citing circumstantial evidence.

The worst that Hernandez could face if convicted is life in prison, which seems likely given some of the evidence in the case. However, Hernandez is innocent until proven guilty, something we in the court of public opinion must be mindful of throughout this process.

Hernandez is currently in prison with no bail.
