In my opinion and many throughout the Capital Region, there was one premier burger joint and they just announced they will be closing their doors soon. As much as this news stings, there is a glimmer of hope that they will resurface again when the location is right.

Best Burger Joint Closing Soon!

Crave Burgers & Frozen Yogurt has been in the student neighborhood of Albany on Western Ave. for almost seven years and the owners have decided to close at the end of May. They say it was a difficult decision and it's not quite "goodbye" until they can find another location.

Chef Devin Ziemann and his wife Kaytrin own Crave and have seen their vision come to life at the Western Ave location. They are currently looking at at least two possible locations to relocate Crave and they are looking to stay in the city of Albany according to the Times Union. The owners say that the new location, wherever that may be, will be totally different than their current one.

They Talk About the Difficult Decision

In a heartfelt Facebook post on the Crave Burgers & Frozen Yogurt Facebook page, they talk about how the decision to close was not an easy one. Not only for them but their employees who are like family.

This was a very difficult decision to make emotionally for our team, this is where our entire future really started, we have employees still working here that have been here since day one and we still are in touch with employees that have graduated because of the bond we created with so many people working beside us. Working at crave were some of the best years of our lives. We are forever grateful and indebted to our team, our landlord Tony for giving us a chance, and to all of our amazing loyal customers 💗 we look forward to serving many of you over the next few weeks and hope to see you all when we open again!

The Landlord Saved a Note When They First Rented the Place

In a beautiful gesture, the landlord showed the owners what he had saved since they became tenants nearly seven years ago.

The owners posted this on their Facebook page and explained the circumstances:

...was a note I left for Tony our landlord along with a check that held almost all of my life savings for our security deposit. He saved it all this time what an honor the entire experience has been.

Crave will close sometime toward the end of May.
