Capital Region’s Best French Fries? The Answer May Surprise You
Is there a better side dish than a spot-on batch of french fries?
Perfectly crispy and golden on the outside. Soft and steamy inside. And just the right amount of salt and grease! Am I right? And without getting too deep into the details, a great french fry is one of those things you instantly identify when you bite into that perfect combination of fried potato greatness.
If you follow my posts, you know I often go on quests to find the best of the best in various food lanes in the Capital Region. From pizza to steak to the best hot dogs, I always look to you for your opinion to find the best places to eat.
So when it came to finding the best french fries in the area, I did what I always do: I looked to you for your vote on the best fries. From shoestring to steak to waffle to curly to crinkle-cut, we asked listeners on Facebook who they thought served the best french fries in the Capital Region. Based on their votes, the answer totally surprised me!
We had votes for national chains like Five Guys and McDonald's which are known for great fries. And of course great local spots like Jumpin' Jacks, Chrissy's Cravings, Illusive, and so many more. But one local spot bubbled up above the rest in the cooking oil.
Where Are The Capital Region's Best French Fries?
Now one would assume they would be living at one of your favorite restaurants or a great greasy spoon. In this case, the answer comes out of left field - or maybe I should say the infield?
It was a tight race with some other great local french fry destinations. But yes, Lebanon Valley Speedway, which is known for great concessions, was the name that came up the most for the best french fries in the Capital Region!
