ArenaBowl Trophy on Tour: Albany Empire Visit 104.5 The Team

The Albany Empire are on their weeklong championship tour through the Capital Region and one of the stops included our 104.5 The Team studios. Defensive end Joe Sykes and wide receiver Collin Taylor each won rings for the first time in their careers and both have talked openly about coming back to the Empire to defend the title.

Sykes is the AFL's all-time sacks leader and now makes his home in the Capital Region after signing on with Albany in the inaugural season of the franchise. Taylor is an original member of the Empire as well and he's as essential to the chemistry and morale of this team as anything or anyone.

The rest of the Empire's ArenaBowl championship tour included an appearance at Chicken Joe's in Troy for a wing eating contest and it was all capped off with a final block party with fans where the trophy and belt were on display.
