We're getting ready for sectionals in baseball, softball, and lacrosse, and when you head toward playoff time, you always see great performances on the field.

With that said, we didn't see a better week across Section II than the one we got from Averill Park senior softball player Caraline Wood.

In four games for the Warriors, she hit a whopping .733 with five home runs, nine RBIs and nine runs scored.

She had a two-homer game against Colonie, including a walk-off three-run shot in the bottom of the 10th inning.

But she wasn't done. She also toes the circle, pitching all 10 innings against Colonie. And then she threw a three-hitter against Cohoes.

The senior will be playing at WPI next season.
