Breaking Down the Brackets (AUDIO)
The Section II basketball pairings came out this afternoon, and in order to properly break them down, we brought in James Allen of the Albany Times Union.
Allen has covered Section II athletics since 1989.
When it comes to Class AA on the boys' side, is Shen the clear favorite? They are 20-0 and are coming off a season that saw them win the NYSPHSAA title.
In Class A, Scotia has had Section II on lock for the last few years thanks to Joe Cremo, but the Tartans are the No. 2 seed this year. Can Troy dethrone them?
In Class B, Glens Falls is the No. 2 seed, but just how good is star guard Joe Girard III? He has scored more than 1,000 points and he's not even through his freshman year yet. Can he top Joel Wincowski's all-time Section II record by the time he graduates?
