One week after rushing for 256 yards on a school-record 43 carries, Iowa running back and Troy High School graduate Jordan Canzeri left the game with an apparent "serious" ankle injury. Reports are it's a sprain.

"The good news is I think they were concerned there might be a fracture. They ruled that out," said Hawkeyes' head coach Kirk Ferentz.

Canzeri left Iowa's 40-10 win over Northwestern after just four carries. According to Hawk Central, this was how the injury occurred.

"While driving for extra yardage, his left ankle was rolled and turned to the outside on a tackle by Northwestern linebacker Jaylen Prater. After a golf-cart ride to the Iowa locker room, Canzeri emerged with his left foot in a walking boot."

Iowa is unbeaten at 6-0 and heads into a bye week, which could be huge in getting Canzeri back on the field.

Heading into Saturday, Canzeri was third in the Big 10 in rushing.
