As stated above, the Tri-City ValleyCats used extra-innings on Thursday night to beat the Staten Island Yankees, and in doing so, clinched their fourth straight Stedler Division title.

It wasn't just the win that sealed the division title; The 'Cats needed a bit of help to wrap up the division.

The ValleyCats are now 40-31 on the season and have four games left in the regular season. They play at Staten Island again tonight before returning home for the final series of the season against the Connecticut Tigers.

The ValleyCats have advanced to the New York-Penn League championship series each of the last two seasons. They won the championship in 2013 while finishing second a year ago.

What's more impressive is the consistency for Tri-City from year-to-year. Manager Ed Romero has been a mainstay over the last few years, but with constant roster turnover and players being moved up to different levels, it's amazing the 'Cats are in the position they are in again.

WATCH the 'Cats celebrate last night.
