A new "food trail" experience has been unveiled in Upstate New York, and this one may be the sweetest of all.

Per a New York Upstate report, Cortland County, NY has launched the Cortland County Ice Cream Trail just in-time for the beginning of summer. The trail includes 11 delicious stops, each with their own unique twist on this delicious treat.

The 11 stops on the ice cream trail are as follows:

  • Capt’n Jack’s Ice Cream Shack at Shipwreck Amusements, 759 State Route 13, Cortland
  • D’s Dairy Treat: 2609 State Route 26, Cincinnatus
  • Footie’s Freez, 1041 McLean Road, Cortland
  • Frosted, 133 Main St., Cortland
  • Little Treat Shoppe, 3820 U.S. Route 11, Cortland
  • Mountainside Cones, 1764 Route 392, Virgil
  • Poole’s Drive-In, 3033 State Route 13, Cortland
  • So Good Ice Cream, 13 S. West St., Homer
  • Super Cream Dairy Bar, 75 N. West St., Homer
  • The Frosty Caboose, 107 Homer Ave., Cortland
  • Truxton Outpost, 3728 Route 13, Truxton, NY

As the traveler on the ice cream trail, your job is simple. You can pick up an ice cream trail map at the Cortland County Visitors Center at 42 Main Street in Cortland, or at one of the participating locations.

Each participant will also be given a punch card, and at each stop along the trail, a new hole will be punched in your card as you purchase your ice cream.

The benefits of riding along this ice cream trail are endless. Aside from visiting the locations and trying the ice cream at each spot, returning a completed punch card will earn you a Cortland County Ice Cream Trail enamel pin.

Not only that, but each person who completes the trail will be entered into a raffle, and one lucky winner will win a $100 gift card to their favorite ice cream shop in Cortland County.

The winner will be drawn on the last day of summer, so you have until then to visit the area and complete the new ice cream trail.
