The past several months have been a whirlwind for the Buffalo Bills and their fans.

The 2023 year started with something we all wish never happened, and that was the medical event that Bills safety Damar Hamlin went through on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest on the field in the first quarter at Paycor Stadium and had to have his heartbeat restored on the field. We found out much later that he suffered a rare condition called commotio cordis, which is usually fatal if not responded to within minutes.

Hamlin spent 10 days in two hospitals but it was unclear whether or not his football career would continue, but Bills general manager Brandon Beane confirmed that he would be a full participant at organized team activities in the spring.

It's remarkable that Hamlin has been able to recover so quickly, and even more amazing his football career can continue. That fact is not lost on Hamlin, who left this letter inside every Bills teammate's locker this week.

Hamlin's charity Chasing M's Foundation received nearly $10 million in donations, which has allowed it to expand and help even more people than it was originally designed to do.

This letter is incredibly heartwarming. It shows Hamlin is still incredibly grateful for is recovery and the kind of human he is -- to feel compelled to do this for his teammates.

Hamlin will likely be the backup safety behind Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde, with free agent pickup Taylor Rapp being the other safety.
