The Yankees have traded catcher Francisco Cervelli to the Pirates for lefty reliever Justin Wilson.

Cervelli is a career .278 hitter across parts of seven big league seasons. He played 93 games for the Yankees in 2010.

He has missed a lot of time over his career with injuries - and he was suspended for 50 games in 2013 in connection with the biogenesis scandal.

Wilson could come in and help the Yankees bullpen in 2015. Over the last two years he has a 3.03 ERA with 8.1 K/9 against 3.9 BB/9 over 138 1/3 innings.

Cervelli is now the third Yankee catcher to join the Pirates (Russell Martin, Chris Stewart, Cervelli).
