Empire Offense Has Big Day, Defense Seals the 6-0 Start
Playing at home for the first time in a month, the Albany Empire took down the defending champs for a second time this season. The Empire led big at the half before needing to hold off a fourth quarter charge from the Washington Valor in a 58-48 win.
In front of 8,744 fans at the Times Union Center, Tommy Grady threw seven touchdown passes in a single game for the third time this season and the Empire remain the only undefeated team in the Arena Football League at 6-0. Four of Grady's TDs went to wide receiver Quentin Sims including the score that pushed a three point lead to ten late in the fourth quarter.
For the first time since Weeks 1 and 2, the Empire will play back to back home games looking to build on a perfect first half to the season. Albany will host Baltimore next Saturday at 7pm in what will be the first meeting between those two teams in 2019.
