On Wednesday, former Tri-City ValleyCat and current Houston Astros star Dallas Keuchel took home the American League Cy Young Award.

This comes in addition to his American League Gold Glove.

Keuchel went 20-8 this season to lead the AL in wins. He was an undefeated at home, which is incredible.

In 18 starts at home this year, he allowed just 21 earned runs.

He was the main rotation reason that the Astros got to the playoffs in the American League and he shut down the Yankees at Yankee Stadium in the American League Wild Card game.

Keuchel's a throwback kind of pitcher, not relying on velocity, but on brains and deception. He has a great changeup, the ability to spot his fastball, a usable breaking ball and a cutter that he's able to use to frustrate opponents.

Keuchel was with the ValleyCats in 2009, so if you saw him pitch at Joe Bruno Stadium, you saw a Cy Young winner in the making.
