Sitting at 38-19 and seven games up in the Stedler Division of the New York-Penn League, the Tri-City ValleyCats are gearing up for a run at a second straight league title.

And the great season for the group in Troy continued this weekend as four ValleyCats were named to the NYPL All-Star Game, set to take place on Aug. 19 in Brooklyn.

Catcher Jamie Ritchie leads the offense, hitting .387. He's also getting on base at an unbelievable .496 clip while adding 21 RBIs.

Infielder Nick Tanielu, a 14th-round selection of the Astros from Washington State, leads the team in RBIs with 36 while posting a .307 average.

On the mound, submarine closer Ryan Thompson has a 2.95 ERA and eight saves to solidify Tri-City's bullpen.

Finally, outfielder Bobby Boyd was also selected to the team, as he was hitting .340 at the time of his selection. However, he will be unable to play after earning a promotion to Quad Cities (A, Iowa).

Boyd becomes one of several 'Cats to move to Quad Cities this year, a list that includes: Outfielders Marc Wik and Ryan Bottger, infielders J.D. Davis and A.J. Reed, and pitcher Troy Scribner.
