Head coach Todd Bowles announced tuesday afternoon that QB Geno Smith will likely be out until October, after he was hit by LB Ikemefuna in a locker-room fight this morning. Bowles used the words “cold-cocked” ,“sucker-punched” ,"childish" and said Enemkpali was cut immediately

Smith’s broken jaw will need surgery. This means the QB battle will turn to Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty for the starting job.

This is an absolute shocking report, to have a defensive player sucker punch, and take out your biggest player on the team. The Jets continue to not be able to get out of their own way. Right when you think a new regime is put in place, and they were going to turn it around it all blows up again. This comes only two weeks after news about Sheldon Richardson were released of him drag racing with a loaded assault rifle, and a 6-year old girls in the car.

Whatever the reasoning of the altercation, Bowles needs to take control of this team, as the continue to look like they are spiraling out of control.

Geno posted this hours after the incident.

ILL BE BACK!
