Last night was one of the best performances in Section II's recent memory as Joe Girard III poured in 52 points in an Indians' win over Amsterdam.

That point total broke even Jimmer Fredette's all-time scoring record at Glens Falls (46).

Girard went 22-22 at the free-throw line while adding eight three-pointers. He had the local media buzzing:

I spoke with Glens Falls Post-Star reporter Will Springstead about Girard's game earlier this morning. I asked him what the buzz is like surrounding the 9th grader and how he's able to get his shots off. Is he a volume shooter or does he get his shots in the flow of the offense?

Furthermore, with almost 1,000 points barely into his 9th grade year, I asked Springstead if he's got a chance to break Joel Wincowski's all-time Section II scoring record (2,617). Furthermore, I asked if Girard will end up on the same level as Jimmer in terms of fanfare in Glens Falls when he graduates.
