Less than one week remains before Super Bowl 53 kicks off. I have been alive for 29 Super Bowls (even though Levack is now trying to push me into my thirties). Below is my top five Super Bowls in my lifetime. I ranked these games on the overall excitement of the game, how competitive the game was, what the game meant for the legacy of the league and personal moments I remember from the game.

Honorable Mention: Super Bowl XXXVII Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48 Oakland Raiders 21

I know the game was awful. It was a blow out all the way through. However I'm a Bucs fan! Check out the picture of a younger version of me getting ready for the big game!

#5 Super Bowl XXXVIII New England Patriots 32 Carolina Panthers 29

All sixty one points came in the second and fourth quarter. Thirty seven combined points were scored in the fourth quarter alone. Three scoring plays under three minutes to go. The Panthers tied the game with less than seventy seconds to go. Imagine if social media was a thing in 2004 when John Kasay kicked the ball out of bounds giving it to New England on their own 40... another game winner for the Patriots.

#4 Super Bowl XLIII Pittsburgh Steelers 27 Arizona Cardinals 23

I remember watching this game in college and thinking this was one of if not the best Super Bowls I had ever seen. James Harrison's 100 yard interception return to end the first half. Larry Fitzgerald going 64 yards with less than three minutes to play to give the Cardinals a four point lead. Ben Roethlsiberger and Santonio Holmes connect on an impossible catch and throw with thirty five seconds left. Incredible.

#3 Super Bowl XXXIV St Louis Rams 23 Tennessee Titans 16

One play to decide it all. I believe if Rams defensive player Mike Jones does not make that tackle, then Kevin Dyson scores and the Titans go for the win on a two point conversion. A truly great finish.

I remember as a kid being so convinced that the St.Louis Rams would destroy the Patriots. The Rams at that point in my life, were the greatest team I had ever seen (4 current Hall of Famers and may end with six total). They entered the game as a 14 point favorite. This was also the first Super Bowl I watched where the final play resulted in a game winning score.

The 18-0 New England Patriots could have made history. They DIDN'T last to this New York Giants team. I remember that the morning of the game I was at Hobart College for my official over night trip as a recruit. I committed to Hobart that Monday. My dad is New York Giants fan and I remember watching that game in Syracuse with him. I wish cell phones were better in 2008 so I could have fillmed his reaction when Plaxico Burress caught the go ahead touchdown.
