An education is one of the most valuable things you can receive in life.

Think about it for a moment, if you will. Being educated opens up endless opportunities for the average person, from employment, to travel, to social growth and beyond. Not only that, but education can come in many different forms. Sure, there's the traditional "classroom education" that most of us experienced, but it goes much further than that. Education can come through real-world experiences, shadowing, reading on your own, and so much more.

For those living in the state of New York, and the Capital Region, the educational landscape looks a bit like this.

According to the World Population Review, New York State as a whole is ranked 12th in its "education attainment" total, meaning that percentage-wise, it has the 12th-most college degrees attained by its population. New York also offers the 12th-best quality of education, according to the same database.

When you break the data down by county, we can get a better picture of where the best education is coming from within the state.

This likely won't come as much of a surprise, but the website Stacker ranks New York County as the "most educated" in the state, as New York County has the highest percentage of its population having a Bachelor's Degree or higher. One must scroll down to No. 5 to find the first Capital Region county, as Albany County ranks as the "most educated" in the district. In total, the Capital Region has six counties within the Top 25 most educated in New York.

Stacker also ranked the counties on the opposite end of the list, reporting the lowest percentages of Bachelor's degrees. We're happy to report that a Capital Region county does not the "last" spot on that list.

With that being said, here are the most educated counties in the Capital Region, and how they rank in the entire state of New York.
