New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has been on a historic tear lately, sprouting discourse over whether he is genuinely having the greatest hitting stretch in MLB history.  Judge has even gotten comparisons to the primes of legends such as Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and more! So let's put into perspective just how good this stretch is.

Firstly his start to the 2025 season has been historical in itself.  Throughout the Yankees first 40 games Aaron Judge is boasting numbers such as....

.409 AVG, 1.237 OPS, 63 hits, 3.8 WAR (on pace for 15.4 which would break Babes record of 14.1 inn 1923), 14 HRs, and 39 RBIs.

These don't even include many other ridiculous numbers like a .779 SLG and .494 OBP.  To sum up, Aaron Judge leads or is tied for first in 7 different batting stats.  He has had more games this season with 3 or more hits than games with 0 hits.  Now we've seen plenty of hot starts by players before but this is more than just a hot start, Judge has been doing this for practically a full seasons worth of baseball.

In the last 162 regular season games he's played in he has hit 65 home runs, driven in 163 runs, only committed one error in the field, and is slashing a .368 AVG, .491 OBP, and a .781 SLG.  Again these are numbers that no one in MLB HISTORY has ever touched, and no, not even Barry Bonds.

Obviously, we all know the history behind Barry Bonds and the reason he is not in the hall of fame, and this is not a knock on him for his steroid use, he's still one of the greatest hitters of all time.  But it is worth mentioning since Aaron Judge as far as we know is clean and still putting up numbers that are arguably better than Bonds' best stretch.  Bonds' career best weighted runs created in a single season was 244 and his best fWAR was 12.7, Aaron Judge's last 162 regular season games he has accumulated a 249 runs created and a 14.3 fWAR.

Now obviously, Judge needs to do this in October before he can go down as a yankee legend, but don't let that take away from the fact that he is having arguably the greatest stretch of hitting in baseball history.
