Meet The OTHER New York QB Who Ran For President

The presidential election is shaping up to be a rematch of 2020 among the main candidates. However, there is plenty of discussion this week surrounding an NFL quarterback's involvement in the race this fall.

The new NFL year has just started and the teams are making some big moves and filling gaps and making new salary cap strategies. It will be interesting to see what happens between now and September when the season starts.

Last season, there were big hopes for the New York Jets to make a playoff run. However, star QB, Aaron Rodgers' injury pretty much closed that deal for the Jets.

There are rumors that Aaron Rodgers may be part of an independent ticket this fall for the race for The White House. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told the New York Times that Rodgers and former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura are at the top of the list of potential running mates.

Quarterbacks in politics is not a new thing, In fact, former Buffalo Bills quarterback, Jack Kemp, went on to big things in Washington as well.

According to his congressional biography, Kemp was "Representative from New York; born in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, Calif., July 13, 1935; professional football player, 1957-1970; elected as a Republican to the Ninety-second and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1971-January 3, 1989); unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in 1988"

Kemp was a quarter back for the Buffalo Bills prior to his run for President of the United States.

The primary races are not over yet and the official presidential nominees won't be announced until the RNC and DNC take place.
