New York’s Buc-ee’s Dreams Could Be Getting Closer

The Brisket. The Beaver Nuggets. The collectibles. The hundreds of gas pumps. All of these are what Buc-ee's is known for and for those of us who have been on cross country road trips or a drive down south you may have been lucky enough to dine in the church of Beaver - other wise known as Buc-ee's.

Buc-ee's is one those iconic locations that seems like a myth until you actually get to experience it for yourself. I've been to several in Texas, Kentucky, and Tennessee. With how famous this gas station is you'd think they were in at least 50% of the country, but no. They're only located in 12 states currently. Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, and Virginia.

Continued Expansion

Currently there is one being built in Wisconsin. That is as far north as Buc-ee's has gotten. They also just approved another Virginia location that will be on I-95. That means that if you're driving from New York down to Florida you will be able to hit that new spot once it is built. Very exciting for us in the Capital Region who would love Buc-ee's to be a bit closer than it is now. Unfortunately we're also more than a year out from them beginning the actual construction process.

For New York we're still waiting. While there are plenty of spots where we could have one built, no news on them scouting for a location currently. I believe that the Capital Region would be a great spot of one as you would drivers heading north, south, east or west. With them continuing to expand locations further north and east I think that the North East could be their next place. Maybe it won't be New York, but perhaps a location in Pennsylvania or New Jersey could be in their future.
