New York Man Beats Up Truck With Sledgehammer But Not Arrested

A New York man allegedly beat up a truck with a sledgehammer but did not get arrested. Well, that statement alone brings to mind a few questions. Why was he mad at at a truck? Who's truck is it? Why didn't he get charged with any crimes?

We all have bad days. Some of us exercise our frustrations by going to the gym. Others yell at every car they pass and some just cry it out. It's not every day that you hear of an individual taking out frustrations on a truck with a sledgehammer. Here's what we know.

On the evening of Friday September 4th, according to a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) press release, officers in the town of Santa Clara in Franklin County responded to a report of a camp disturbance.

Ray Brook Dispatch received a call from Fish Creek Campground about an aggressive person smashing a truck with a sledgehammer. Forest Rangers Foutch and Odell responded, along with New York State Police (NYSP).

By 9:40p, Ranger Foutch and NYSP had disarmed the subject. NYSP interviewed the subject and determined there were no arrestable offenses, since the damage was done to the subject’s own vehicle. Family members picked up the camper.

On one hand you have to give the guy credit for not damaging someone else's property. On the other hand he trashed his own vehicle! Worse than all of this is what his fellow campers had to deal with on the Friday night of Labor Day Weekend.
