Sad News About Missing 7-Year-Old

The search for 7-year-old Harbe Nagi has ended in heartbreaking tragedy.

Harbe, who was autistic and nonverbal, wandered away from a family graduation gathering on Park Place in Menands around 4:20 p.m. Sunday.

Since then, law enforcement agencies, firefighters, search teams, and countless volunteers have worked tirelessly to search neighborhoods, wooded areas, and nearby bodies of water, hoping to bring him home safely.

His Uncle Reported it on Facebook

Sadly, Harbe's family confirmed Tuesday morning that he had been found deceased.

His uncle, Adam Alharbi, shared the heartbreaking update on Facebook, writing, "We are devastated to share that he has been found deceased. Thank you to everyone who helped in the search."

Police say the circumstances surrounding Harbe's death remain under investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

A press conference is reportedly scheduled for later today.

The Menands Police Department also issued a statement extending its condolences to Harbe's family, friends, and everyone affected by the tragedy.

Many Locals Helped with the Search

During Tuesday morning's investigation, Park Drive between Wards Lane and Mountain View was closed as emergency crews remained on scene.

NewsChannel 13 reported seeing an emotional family member run toward first responders shortly after 8 a.m., underscoring the unimaginable heartbreak surrounding the discovery.

Over the past two days, thousands across the Capital Region shared Harbe's photo, volunteered their time, and prayed for a safe outcome. Instead, our community is left mourning the loss of a little boy far too soon.
