There are so many beautiful places to take a winter getaway in Upstate New York, but many of us want to bring our furry friends. Here are a few places that welcome your pet with open arms this winter, according to I Love NY.

Lake Placid
Lake Placid is a snowy playground for you and your pup, and places like Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort make it easy to bring your dog along for a cozy stay in town. After you settle in, take a walk on the Mirror Lake shoreline loop, where you both can stretch your legs and enjoy classic Adirondack winter views. The town itself is welcoming to leashed dogs, so you can explore shops and the fresh air together without stress.

Saratoga Springs
In Saratoga Springs, The Adelphi Hotel welcomes dogs with food and water dishes and a pet-friendly vibe close to Broadway. Once you and your dog are out and about, Congress Park is a great winter stroll with open space and scenic spots near downtown. Between walks, Broadway’s mix of shops and restaurants makes it fun to roam with your furry friend.

Ithaca
In Ithaca, hotels like the Hampton Inn Ithaca or others downtown are welcoming to dogs and put you close to city trails. For outdoor time in winter, Ithaca Dog Park gives pups some off-leash space near Cayuga Lake when weather allows. If snow blankets the ground, there are still plenty of scenic walks around the parks and waterfront paths that make the Finger Lakes feel like your own winter wonderland.

If you really want to bring your furry friend for a winter getaway, you should call ahead. You may be surprised that the places you are visiting are more pet-friendly than you know.
