Holiday Travel-Ten Places in Capital Region With Lowest Gas Prices

It's the holiday season, and travel is necessary for dinners, to visit family, and to do all of your holiday shopping. Everything is more expensive, so saving pennies matters especially when it comes to filling up.

Gas prices are different throughout the Capital Region. If you can save a few bucks filling up your tank this holiday season, you will do it. Here are the top ten cheapest gas prices in the Capital Region. I am happy to say that all of these are well under three dollars.

GasBuddy.com reports all the gas prices in the Capital Region, and I've noticed that prices fluctuate depending on your location. For instance, if you are on one part of Central Avenue in Colonie, the price of gas is $3.17. However, if you travel further up Central Avenue, it's $3.09 per gallon.

Here's what makes me the maddest, though. If I get gas at a Sunoco on Route 9 in Halfmoon near Grooms Road, it's $2.99 per gallon, but directly across the street at the Valero, it's two dollars and eighty-five cents. Can anyone explain this?
