What Did We Make Of The New York Giants At Their Training Camp?
MJ and I were live at Giants Training Camp on Thursday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford right by MetLife Stadium. We had a great time and arguably saw the best practice the Giants have had all season. Daniel Jones looked sharp and wasn't missing any passes. Head coach Brian Daboll who I interviewed, was very pleased with Jones performance as Jones has looked rusty to say the least, especially according to Paul Schwartz. Then Giants president and CEO John Mara spoke to the media and made some good and interesting points. He was not a fan of Saquon Barkley being traded to Philly and also backs Daniel Jones but wants to see significant improvement. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
I happened to be at Giants training camp on Thursday when the first team offense had a good practice which has not been the case at times this preseason. Quarterback Daniel Jones had his best practice because he didn’t turn the ball over. The critics are tough on Jones even in the preseason. But remember he missed most of last season after tearing his ACL and needs to fight through some mistakes at training camp to get ready for the start of a new season. One thing is for sure wide receiver Malik Nabers is the real deal after watching the Giants number one draft pick out of LSU make one spectacular catch after another. He's sitting on a big rookie season.

The Giants will have a good season I have no doubt, but if they don't, there will be major changes internally.
