All reports say the New York Jets have agreed to hire former Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase as their new Head Coach. After an extensive search of candidates the Jets have hired their first head coach with previous experience since Bill Parcells in 1997.

Gase was fired from the Dolphins after going 23-25 with a postseason record of 0-1 as the Dolphins Head Coach. The good news is Gase was 5-1 against the Jets. So I guess the new saying is "If you can't beat them...hire them". 40 year old Gase became a lead candidate after the Jets seemed to cool on the idea of former Green Bay Packers Mike McCarthy and the Arizona Cardinals hired USC Offensive Coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.

Rumors of former Denver Broncos Head Coach Vance Joseph becoming the new Defensive Coordinator of the Jets. If this is the case Gase and Joseph will reunite in the same roles they had in Gase's first year as the HC. Together they lead the Dolphins to the playoffs hopefully that will be the case here in New York.
