Tragedy has stricken in Kansas City today as Chiefs linebacker Javon Belcher has reportedly killed his girlfriend before taking his own life this morning.

From KCTV in Kansas City, this chilling account of the shootings:

Police are investigating two deadly shootings Saturday morning that they said are related.

The shootings involve a Chiefs player and his girlfriend.

The first shooting was reported about 8 a.m. at a home near 54th Street and Chrysler Avenue. The second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.

Officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.

As if this wasn't tragic enough, Belcher and his girlfriend had a two month old baby, who is now without either of its parents thanks to senseless violence.

Further reports on the incident state that Belcher was confronted by members of Chiefs management including Head Coach Romeo Crennel and GM Scott Pioli. These are just rumors at this point, but an already ugly story is getting harder to swallow by the second.

As further facts emerge, we will keep you updated.
