After rumors heated up this afternoon that a trade might be coming for one of the Knicks' most beloved players, it appears to have become a reality.

According to ESPN, the Knicks have traded Kristaps Porzingis, Trey Burke, Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan and two first round picks.

After being drafted amid a lot of skepticism from Knick fans, he quickly became one of the more popular players on the team. Unfortunately, he's on to Dallas and that means we New York fans will have to wait and see what's next for the team.

Did the Knicks make the right move by trading him before the deadline after his request to leave town? It's hard to know for now, but as the team starts to take shape in the offseason, maybe we will be able to make a clearer judgment.
