Knicks Amare Stoudemire Sprains Ankle – Day To Day

Turns out the loss to the Lakers on Thursday night may not be the worst thing that could have happened to the Knicks.  Amare Stoudemire sprained his ankle during that loss and is currently day to day.

Stoudemire told reporters that he damaged his ankle during a pick and roll play.  Currently it's wrapped up and he's not sure if he will be able to play against Sacramento on New Years Eve.  If that's the case the Knicks could be in some serious trouble.

Currently they have lost two games on the road on their west coast road trip and Sacramento is their last stop before heading back east to face Toronto.  Amare said he will monitor the situation and let players and coaches know how he's feeling on a day to day basis.  One thing is certain though, the Knicks need Amare healthy.  Perhaps sitting out a couple game suntil he is 100% won't be a bad idea, rather than possibly damaging the ankle further.
