La Salle Graduate Joins Us Before Spring Training

Today we talked with La Salle graduate and Central Connecticut product, J.P. Sportman.

Sportman, a 27th-round draft pick of the Oakland Athletics in 2014, hit .321 for the A's rookie league affiliate last year before being moved up to the Vermont Lake Monsters of the New York-Penn League.

We talked about the emotions leading up to and during the draft, the moment his name was called, his expectations for Spring Training, and what it's like to be part of the 2014 draft class that saw five Capital Region players taken.
