Lakers, LeBron Finally Land Anthony Davis
After attempts to trade for Anthony Davis prior to the regular season's deadline failed, the Los Angeles Lakers have landed the 26-year old superstar to pair alongside LeBron James.
In a multi-player deal Saturday night, the Lakers acquired Davis who is entering the final year of his contract before a player-option season in 2020-'21. In return for the six-time All-Star, the New Orleans Pelicans will receive Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first round picks. That haul of draft selections includes the fourth overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft. The Pelicans also hold their own first rounder, the top pick which will be used on Duke freshman phenom Zion Williamson.
On Friday, sportsbooks in Las Vegas installed the Lakers as the favorites to win the 2020 NBA championship at +400.
