The Los Angeles Lakers have decided against bringing in all-star point guard Chris Paul just days after the NBA vetoed their proposed trade.  That now leaves Houston and New Orleans hanging in the mix.

ESPN is reporting that late Saturday night the Lakers suddenly pulled out of the proposed three team deal from New Orleans Chris Paul.  This comes after the teams tried for nearly a day to restructure the deal to make everyone (David Stern) happy.

The Lakers have instead decided to deal Lamar Odom to the Dallas mavericks for a reported first round pick, that according to Rotoworld.  In the meantime, the Hornets are still looking to shop Paul around and a source close to the team said that the other LA team, the Clippers, are the front runner.  Perhaps that would be enough to help Blake Griffin to a post season appearance.
