The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has issued a statement in regards to the melee that occurred between Siena and Rider in the closing minutes of Tuesday nights game at the Times Union Center:

"After a thorough review of the video and the game officials' reports, the following course of action has been determined by MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor:

Rider's Anthony Durham and Siena's Marquis Wright have each been suspended one game per the NCAA Fighting Rules after both receiving Flagrant 2 fouls and ejections from the game. Both student athletes will be required to sign the MAAC Sportsmanship Statement.

Rider University Head Coach Kevin Baggett and Siena College Head Coach Jimmy Patsos will be reprimanded for unsportsmanlike behavior and will be required to sign the MAAC Sportsmanship Statement."

The following is a quote addressing the statement from Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio

"The MAAC members have a process for these situations and we respect that process and this outcome." It's a learning opportunity for all of us."

Siena's senior guard Marquis Wright will serve his one-game suspension tomorrow night when the Saints play Saint Peter's.
