Country's Longest, Fastest Zip-Line Experience in Upstate NY Closes Permanently

A story from New York Upstate and other outlets shared the unfortunate news that New York Zipline Adventures at Hunter Mountain would be permanently closing its doors, as of May 16, 2023.

The following message was posted to the organization's Facebook page:

Per NY Upstate, New York Zipline Adventures offered a number of experiences to their patrons, including the Skyrider Tour, which sent adventurers along a 3,200-foot-long zipline that soared 600 feet above the Hudson Valley at speeds of 50 miles per hour.

The organization boasted that the zip-line was the highest, and longest, in all of North America. This is the area in Hunter, NY where the experience was located:

The zip-line tours were generally beloved by those who were able to experience them over the last decade. The park was rated a perfect 5/5 stars on TripAdvisor with 668 total reviews. One reviewer claimed that [NY Zipline Adventures] is by far our favorite, while another said that it was fun, cheerful, funny and safe, and another stated that it was such an amazing experience.
