"Quarterbacks should be wearing skirts.  The NFL is 2-hand touch."  Yeah, sure.  Tell that the Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub who didn't even blink after getting lit up by Joe Mays on Sunday.

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub got knocked silly by Denver Broncos linebacker Joe Mays on Sunday afternoon. The Houston Texans were able to outlast the Broncos 31-25. Schaub had an impressive day as he completed 17-of-30 passes for 290 yards and 4 touchdowns and 1 interception on Sunday.

Matt Schaub got hit so hard by Joe Mays that he admitted after the game that he lost a portion of his right ear due to the hit. It cracks me up when fans and former players say that the NFL is a 2-hand-touch league. They say that it isn’t a physical league. Really?

Just because officials have been much more strict about enforcing personal foul penalties (and often times go overboard), it doesn’t mean that the game isn’t incredibly physical or that the players who play the game aren’t incredibly tough. Matt Schaub showcased his toughness on Sunday. News flash -- you still have to be extremely tough to play professional football in the NFL.
