Earlier this month in the parking lot of a Central Avenue McDonald's a shooting occurred. We now know a Colonie man is facing attempted murder charges in relation to this event.

According to police, the investigation took place around 9 PM on July 11th, when a CDTA bus driver reported that a man boarded his bus with a gunshot wound. Officers then met the bus near Central Avenue and Quail Street, where they found a 33 year old man with gunshot wounds to his chest and arms. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Police allege that it was 23 year old John H. Canton of Colonie who fired a shotgun in the parking lot of the McDonald's, striking the victim. Canton has been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Thursday he was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court, and remanded to the Albany County Jail with bail set at $75,000.

Police also charged 26 year old Crystal M. Wood of Colonie in connection to the case. She is accused of hindering prosecution and was issued an appearance ticket to Albany City Criminal Court at a later date.

Police determined the location of the shooting happened in the parking lot of the McDonald's at 391 Central Avenue. Now nearly 3 weeks later we have an answer as far as how this could unfold going forward.

On July 11th, when the incident occurred, video from the CDTA bus does catch the moment the bloodied victim boards the bus with multiple gunshot wounds.
