Mattingly mutually separated ways with the Los Angeles Dodgers last week after taking them deep into the post-season the last three years but not ever getting to the World Series.

ESPN's Buster Olney told "Armen and Levack" last week that Donnie Baseball would most definitely be pursued by the Marlins, it was just a matter of whether or not he would want to go there or wait it out.

The Marlins have now had eight difference managers since 2010 and Mattingly would be considered a hot commodity who simply wasn't able to put it together in LA but the players and staff loved him.

Mattingly has signed a four-year deal with Miami, according to ESPN.
