Former Siena men’s head basketball coach Mitch Buonaguro will be inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, and it’s so well deserved. Mitch is a class act who has paid his dues in more ways than one, and his contributions to the game are endless. Coach Buonaguro has done it all and seen it all, including being part of a National Championship in 1984-85 when was an assistant under Rollie Massimino at Villanova. His timing at Siena was challenging, because he followed Fran McCaffery who had the greatest three year run in the history of the program. Nice to see good things happen to good people, and Mitch is a great person who has more than earned in spot in the Hall of Fame. Make sure to listen to our interview with Mitch above.

The Yankees went out and got Joey Gallo on Wednesday night which covers the need for a left-handed bat. They had to up their offer and gave up 4 prospects with talent but if Gallo continues his very successful season, especially at Yankee Stadium, this is the move that Cashman needed to make maybe even to save his job. They still need to add an arm or two before the trade deadline tomorrow afternoon but this is a good start. Gallo is a great defender too so do not sleep on his defense but there is pressure on the young man due to the package it took to get him.
