NBA Free Agency Picks Up Speed with Opt-Outs
Most everything is out of place and at the same time exactly where we want it to be. If you're into uncertainty, speculation and dream scenarios that is. And who isn't?
Paul George was the first big name to opt-out and he might end up being the first free agent domino to fall when the signing period officially opens on Sunday. What everyone wants to know is whether PG-13's decision will influence LeBron James or is the latter pulling the strings?
At the end of the day, I see both LeBron and George wearing Lakers' purple and gold, but I'm on the fence with Kawhi Leonard. If I'm the Spurs, I'm asking for the world in return for what is a top 5 player in the NBA when he's healthy and I guess I have to add motivated or committed given how things dissolved in San Antonio.
While it will make the Western Conference infinitely interesting and must-watch TV, I'm still not sold that even a trio of LeBron-PG-Kawhi is enough to take down the Warriors. On top of that, I'm not sure it's enough to beat the Rockets foursome of Chris Paul-James Harden-Clint Capela-Eric Gordon.
