According to various news sources, the New York Islanders are going to be on the move, with reports indicating that the team is going to be playing its games in the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, confirming that not even a team called the Islanders can stand to be in Long Island.

The deal will take hold starting in the 2015-2016 season, and is a 25 year deal, pending the approval of the NHL, which is currently locked out of competition.

This is the final step in a tenuous relationship between the organization and the residents of Nassau County, who have repeatedly shot down proposals to renovate the Nassau Coliseum, which would have added to the county's already astronomical taxes.

The deal is expected to be formally announced later today.
