The skeptics say one player can't lead a team all that far. They say running into a "good" will end Glens Falls' season. I'm here to tell you I've seen this one-man show carry on much longer than most people thought it would. I've seen this team beat "good" teams and in some cases, better teams. It comes down to one thing: the will to win or better yet, not lose.

Glens Falls arrived Saturday afternoon to a rowdy, sold out crowd at the Cool Insuring Arena in the New York State Federation of Tournament semifinals as a team only two wins away from further cementing the great legacy of Joseph Girard III.

With South Bronx Prep standing in the way of a trip to the Federation final on Sunday, Girard played through full court presses, double and triple teams and struggles to shoot it, to push his team to victory in overtime. Girard III scored 42 points in a 77-70 win and now the Indians need one more, as improbable as it becomes, win to claim a sectional, state and federation title.
