Police Have Been To Oscar Pistorius’ Home For Domestic Incidents Prior To Alleged Murder
Oscar Pistorius claimed that he thought his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, was an intruder which prompted him to shoot her to death in his home early this morning. However, the police does not believe him, and recent trips to his home for domestic incidents may be why.
From the Daily Mail:
Police say her death is being treated as murder, adding that officers had been sent to previous incidents of a 'domestic nature' at his address on the exclusive Silver Woods gated estate.
Originally I wanted to believe that Pistorius really was just looking to thwart a burglar from breaking into his home but, given the revelations from police following the shooting, his excuse is looking somewhat flimsy.
Obviously we are all best served to reserve judgement and wait for the legal process to take its course before condemning Pistorius as a murderer, but at the very least the news coming out of the Pistorius home suggests that we really have no idea who the athletes we worship are at all.
As more information becomes available, we will keep you posted.
