Patrick Ewing Interested In Coaching New York Knicks
Patrick Ewing spent 15 years at Madison Square Garden playing for the New York Knicks. Now he says he wouldn't mind returning as a coach.
As of right now, the next coach of the New York Knicks is unknown. Mike Woodson has been doing a good job as interim head coach, but the Knicks front office has made it clear that when the 2012 season is over they will be doing a job search. If that happens, Patrick Ewing says that he is interested in that job.
Ewing, a former Knick great, spent 15 of his 17 NBA seasons in New York, and he said he still considers the New York area his home. Ewing has been a coach under Stan Van Gundy in Orlando since 2007, and says that he would love to interview to be the next head coach of the New York Knicks.
I played here. I know the ins and outs of New York, the media, the fans.
-Patrick Ewing
Ewing said that he is hopeful that he will get an opportunity to become a head coach in the NBA, because he already has his foot in the door. He now said he is ready for that next step.
