The Quinnipiac University Bobcats captured the NCAA Hockey East Regional title on Sunday after beating UMass-Lowell at the Times Union Center.

The sparse crowd could be attributed to it being Easter Weekend, as well as no local teams being present in the regional. RPI and Union both lost in the ECAC playoffs and did not advance to NCAA play.

Quinnipiac is the top seed in the NCAA tournament and I saw them play in their opener on Saturday against RIT. They are fast and physical and boast great goalie play. They don't have any true superstars but they play well together.

They reached the National Championship game in 2012 but lost to Yale. The Bulldogs were also at this regional, but they lost to UMass-Lowell in their first game.
