Real good game two of the Eastern Conference semi finals at the Garden Monday night. A late goal by Alexander Ovechkin broke a 2-2 tie and evened the series at one. The part time now captain ripped a shot past Ranger Golie  Henrik Lundqvist to lead the Caps.

The Rangers were hurt by back to back penalties. The 1st call on a returning Brian Boyle was a bad call but the Rangers killed that. the 2nd on Brad Richards killed their chances.

Strctly from a standpoint of possession time and territory the Rangers played perhaps their strongest playoff game. It doesn't help when defenseman Michael Del Zotto rings a post and a cross bar. Golie's best friend-the pipes aided rooking netminder Brandon Holtby who stopped 26 shots.

The Rangers despite having the best chances fell behind 2-0 in the 1st. Brad Richards cut that defivit in half with a last minute goal. The rangers tied the game at 2 when Ryan Callahan scored a power play goal at 6.58 of the 3rd. The rangers continued to pressure while the Caps blocked lots of rubber.

The Rangers as they usually do out hit the opponent 45-35 but gave up the puck to many times. Game 3 heads to Washington Wednesday Night.
