Red Sox Win Signature Of Cuban Phenom Moncada

The Boston Red Sox, have agreed to sign 19-year-old Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada. The deal is said to be worth $61M, with bonuses in the $30M range. Moncada is still a prospect, and will begin his career in the minors.

The Yankees, Dodgers and Padres were among the teams seeking Moncada. The Yankees worked Moncada out privately three times, including twice last week.
