Saratoga and East Greenbush All-Stars Dream of Trip to LL World Series!

There are only 8 All-Star Little League teams still playing throughout the entire State of New York, and two of them are from right here in the Capital Region.

It's remarkable to think that out of all of the 12U Little League All-Star teams in the entire state of New York, two of the 8 remaining teams still vying for a chance to play at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA are from the Capital Region.

Those 8 teams are from: East Greenbush-Castleton Little League,  Saratoga Little League, Webster, Fayetteville,  Massapequa Coast,  Sayville, South Shore, and West Nyack Nanuet.

Here's what's next for those 8 Little League teams, including both from the Capital Region.

The Saratoga and East Greenbush 12U All-Stars are set for play this week at New York State Little League Championship Tournament, part of the Little League World Series Tournament will be held July 25th through July 31st in Penfield, New York - a suburb of Rochester).

Both teams will be rested and ready to roll when they play today in the first round of the double-elimination tournament held in Penfield, NY.

The winner moves on to the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Connecticut.

Saratoga Little League will play today at @12:30 vs. West Nyack/Nanuet. Then on 7/27 @3pm vs. Massapequa Coast, off Thursday, then 7/29 @5:30 vs. Webster.

East Greenbush-Castleton will play today @ 5:30 vs. South Shore.  Then they'll
play Sayville @ 10 am on Wednesday and Fayetteville Manlius at 3pm on Friday.
All games will be streamed live.

With two local teams in the tournament, it is possible that they could face one another down the road, but a loss by either team doesn't necessarily mean doom and gloom. This is a double-elimination tournament meaning that a team must lose twice in order for their season to be over.

Before that happens, let's hope that one of our area teams makes it out of the tournament as New York Champions, one step closer (and one more regional away) from playing in the real-life Field of Dreams in a few weeks at the Little League World Series.
