Schenectady Chargers Win NY State Championship [AUDIO]

The Capital Region continues to add champions to our ranks. The latest Championship team is the Schenectady Chargers 12U AA Hockey team.

The Schenectady Chargers 12U PeeWee AA hockey team, (2005 yr group), won the NY State Championship in Buffalo on Sunday March 25th.  They are part of the Schenectady Youth Hockey Association.  This is a pretty rare feat.  Obviously they are super talented.  A great bunch of kids too.  This team was ranked #1 in NY since September and finished the season ranked #7 nationally (out of 1,374 teams).  It’s a pretty special group.  Local HS hockey hockey coaches still have a couple seasons before these kids will be on their rosters (7th graders now) but I know they are all drooling…haha.

I really hope you can find some space online, on the radio, in print, on tv, or on twitter feeds to give this team some recognition for what they accomplished.  It would be greatly appreciated.

2018 New York State Tier II 12U Champions
Season Record:  47-10-4
Scored 385 goals while only giving up 92

Went 3-0 in the New York USA Hockey Northern Zone Sectional Tournament to advance to the state tournament in Buffalo.
Went 5-0 in the New York USA Hockey State Tournament in Buffalo defeating teams from Long Island, Buffalo, Syracuse, and Rochester areas along the way.
